The latest wave of covid - the Omicron variant - appears to be subsiding. According to Public Health England, the newest figures for Liverpool City Region show a week-on-week drop of 28% in cases.
But many people are still socially distancing and wearing masks, despite the fact that anti-covid measures are no longer being enforced. A significant minority of us can still be seen on buses and in supermarkets sporting masks.
