Michy Batshuayi’s club future remains in limbo following talks between Chelsea and Tottenham over a deal for the Belgium international.
Spurs were alerted to the possibility of a deal for Batshuayi, who has spent the first-half of the season struggling to make an impact at Valencia.
Chelsea are willing to sell to one of their fiercest rivals – but only if Tottenham are prepared to meet their full valuation which is close to £40million.
Tottenham will be without Harry Kane until early March with Fernando Llorente their only recognised striker, with Kazaiah Sterling leaving north London on deadline day to join Sunderland on loan.
Vincent Janssen meanwhile is not part of Mauricio Pochettino‘s plans.
25-year-old Batshuayi has bagged just the one La Liga goal this season, but had been of interest to Tottenham before he joined London rivals Chelsea from Marseille in 2016.
The English transfer window closes at 11pm tonight.
