Shoppers rave over £11 spider remover gadget that 'works wonders'

By Narin Flanders

A gadget given the seal of approval by hundreds of Amazon shoppers for removing spiders and other insects humanely has been reduced to just £11 in the retail giant's latest sale.

Described as 'working wonders,' more than 974 customers have reviewed the device on the site, with it getting a 4.3 out of 5 star rating and shoppers commenting on its ease of installation and use. Reduced to £11.04, a 63% discount, the Aribio pest repelling device uses both ultrasonic and electromagnetic waves and will cover a 1,000 to 1,200 sq ft area.

Poison and chemical-free, the eco-friendly gadget works through walls, with customers saying it has worked effectively to repel not just spiders but also host of other flying and crawling insects including ants, cockroaches, mosquitos and bed bugs.

It can be set at three different levels - low, medium and high, with the manufacturer recommending using the highest setting only for the worst kinds of infestations, and without humans being present. They say otherwise the gadget, which plugs into a wall socket and needs no additional set-up, is safe and harmless for adults, children and pets.

One happy customer said: "I bought this as my five-year-old seems to scream about spiders every other day. I've waited two weeks to review it and only remembered because I noticed my daughter hasn't shouted spider in days. I don't have an infestation or anything just a few house spiders and a jumpy child. But with this it seems to have settled down, and that's enough for me to happily recommend this product."

Another customer described the device as 'working wonders,' adding: "We live in an old house and used to get huge spiders. We used to use other spider plugs that didn’t always work. We have invested in these plugs in every room and maybe see a small spider once every four months or so."

The gadget also works on bigger pests, including rodents like rats and mice. One reviewer said: "These are fantastic and really work to deter mice. We live in the countryside and use these in our home and garage.

"I don't like using traps however have had to in the past due to mice in our loft space. Since using this, plugged in in common area below loft space but it works over a good span of the house, we have had found no mice. Definitely the most effective prevention method we have found to date."

The gadget is available on Amazon now in the sale.
