An alleged shoplifter trying to steal a venetian blind has been caught on CCTV attempting to conceal the item it in his jacket.
The man, whose identity remains unknown, can be seen with the 7ft long blind sticking out of his hood as he tried to escape from a Dunelm Mill shop in Northampton.
It is thought he placed the item through his trouser leg and up the back of his jacket in an attempt to conceal it.
Security staff from the shop followed the man, who then abandoned the blind at a nearby canal, damaging it in the process.
The item was stolen from the shop in the Nene Valley Retail Park and police have released photos of the man they say was responsible in an attempt to track him down.
A Northamptonshire Police said in a statement: "Officers would like to speak with the man pictured or anyone with information can contact Northamptonshire Police on 101.
"Alternatively, they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111," the statement added.
Northamptonshire Police shared the images on Facebook and one user sarcastically commented: "Great disguise. I bet no one noticed him walk out with that."
