Fans of The Masked Dancer were gobsmacked as the latest star was unmasked.
It was the turn of the character Beetroot to be voted off the ITV guessing game during the third night and jaws dropped as the celebrity performer beneath the costume was revealed.
There was shock in the studio and at home as the shimmying root vegetable turned out to be American burlesque icon Dita Von Teese.
The raven-haired pin-up, who is credited with re-popularising burlesque performance and made her breakthrough on the cover of Playboy magazine in 2002, amazed judges Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Oti Mabuse and Mo Gilligan as she removed her mask.

Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Oti said she had guessed Dita but scrubbed out her name because she thought she was way off the mark.
As viewers went wild at home Oti tweeted: "Whatttttrtrtttttttt I know right whatttttttt."
"Wow. I've always wanted to see@DitaVonTeese perform. This wasn't what I was expecting!" tweeted one viewer as Dita reprised her dance to Lesley Gore's It's My Party, surrounded by dancing onions.
"DITA VON TEESE?! Wow!" gasped another.

"As if @DitaVonTeese was Beetroot?! Such an elegant lady. This show never ceases to surprise me," said another.
"Well I did not see that coming! How the hell did they get Dita von Teese!!" asked another fan.
Another said: "Mind. Blown."
And another tweeted: "OMG!!!! Wow, they got @DitaVonTeese!"
Dita, 48, who was married to rocker Marilyn Manson from 2005 to 2006,
participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow as part of the stage performance for the German entry Miss Kiss Kiss Bang.
In 2019 she flew into Manchester for an intimate show for fans at the cabaret club Whiskey Down.
She wore lavish costumes dripping with hundreds of thousands of Swarovski crystals as she performed in an over-sized martini glass.
