Sherif Lanre slams Love Island bosses for 'ruining chances' with Anna Vakili

Sherif Lanre has hit out at Love Island bosses for 'ruining' his romance with contestant Anna Vakili after he was kicked off the show after just nine days.

The 20-year-old chef finally admitted today that he was given the boot from the series after in the groin during a playfight.

In the nine short days he was in the villa, Sherif had coupled up with stunning Kim Kardashian lookalike Anna.

The pair had been sharing a bed together from the first night and even shared a steamy snog after a racy game of Jenga with their fellow islanders.

But since Sherif left the show - without being able to say - he's accused producers of dashing his hope at finding love.

Revealing he felt a 'real connection' with the pharmacist, Sherif said: "Our relationship was just reaching a key moment when I was kicked out and that was hard to take.

"I hope to see Anna again but for now they have ruined that romance for me and that is hard to take.”

Semi-rugby professional Sherif admitted that he'd been following Anna on social media for a while and was smitten after seeing her in real life.

He told The Sun : "I couldn’t believe it when I saw her for the first time because I had been following her on Instagram for about a year and I had always fancied her. I was like, ‘I know you.’ Once we got talking she surprised me, but in a positive way.

“She was very down to earth and we had a real connection."

Despite his bond with Anna, Sherif didn't get a chance to speak to her before ITV crews woke him up and marched him to the Beach Hut before his swift removal from the villa - just hours after his play-fight with Molly Mae.

The scenes have not been aired on the ITV2 series and the Islanders have not been seen reacting to his exit.

However, Anna was seen confessing that she 'missed' Sherif while in the privacy of the Beach Hut.

She said: "It's weird being single because I started this journey being in a couple with Sherif. I'm going to miss him but I want to be someone's type to a T."

Anna is now in a vulnerable position in the show being one of the few female contestants left without a partner.

Love Island continues on ITV2 at 9pm
