Sherif Lanre's Instagram account confirms he WILL appear on Love Island tonight

Love Island contestant Sherif Lanre will appear on tonight’s episode of the show after being removed from the villa for breaking the rules.

A post on the rugby player’s personal Instagram account, which has since been deleted, said that the 20-year-old will still feature in the upcoming instalment, shortly after ITV confirmed that Lanre had left the show.

“So sadly Sherif has left the villa,” the post read.

“But will STILL be appearing on our screens tonight. Everyone on endz is BEYOND proud and excited to have him home."

Recent Instagram Stories previously posted on Lanre's account appeared to have been removed.

A spokesperson for the series today revealed that Lanre and producers had “mutually agreed” that he would leave the villa.

“After breaking the villa rules Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa,” they said.

“In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa,” Lanre added.

“I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.

“I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside.”

The chef had been coupled up with fellow islander Anna Vakili, who chose him over Anton during last week's recoupling, saving him from being dumped from the villa.

The pair had shared a kiss, and Lanre admitted to following her on Instagram before they joined the show.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
