Sheldon Richardson expected to play for Browns vs. Jets

Head coach Kevin Stefanski sure seems to believe that defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson will be on the field and ready to roll when the Browns take on the New York Jets on Sunday. Richardson’s status is up in the air at this point after the veteran defensive tackle suffered a neck injury while making a tackle in the Browns win over the Giants on Sunday night.

Stefanski was asked if Richardson was being held out of Wednesday’s practice for simple precautionary reasons and not a serious injury. He acknowledged that was the case.

Richardson is a former Jet who spent the first four years of his career in New York. He was the Jets’ first-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft out of Missouri and earned his one career Pro Bowl berth in 2014 with New York.

Coach Stefanski also revealed that safety Andrew Sendejo has been cleared from the concussion protocol and will be a full participant at practice.
