Sheffield Wednesday face nervous injury wait ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

Sheffield Wednesday are sweating over the fitness of one of their key players ahead of Nottingham Forest’s visit this weekend.

The Reds travel to Hillsborough to face in the Owls on Saturday in their next match in the Sky Bet Championship.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side will be keen to get back to winning ways after failing to win any of their previous two league matches.

A 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough last week was followed by a 3-0 home defeat to Millwall, which has seen them lose ground on the automatic promotion places.

Wednesday have been struggling themselves in recent weeks, with defeats to Derby County and Brentford seeing the Owls concede eight goals and drop to 15th place in the league standings.

Owls boss Garry Monk will be hopeful that winger Adam Reach will be soon available for selection, after picking up a toe problem in the goalless draw with Millwall on February 1.

There were hopes that Reach would recover in time to face Forest on Saturday, but Yorkshire Live say that he is unlikely to feature at Hillsborough.

The report adds that Monk is hopeful of Reach taking part in full training later this week as he steps up his recovery from injury.

Since Reach suffered the injury, Wednesday have picked up just five points from seven Championship matches, with the 27-year-old scoring twice in his 33 appearances this season.
