Sheffield Utd vs Man Utd lineups: Confirmed team news and starting XIs at Bramall Lane

Phil Jones will make his first Premier League start of the season for Manchester United against Sheffield United this afternoon.

The versatile defender is drafted in as the result of an injury to Scott McTominay, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer forced into one change from the side that beat Brighton 3-1 before the international break.

Harry Maguire starts and captains Manchester United against one of his former clubs.

Meanwhile, Marcos Rojo (muscle) has been added to a Red Devils injury list that also includes McTominay, Paul Pogba, Eric Bailly and Diogo Dalot.

Luke Shaw and Nemanja Matic are back in training but not yet match fit, while there is a place on the bench for Axel Tuanzebe after injury.

For the hosts, first-choice goalkeeper Dean Henderson is ineligible to face his parent club, so Simon Moore starts between the posts.

Centre-back John Egan has failed to shake off a calf injury and is replaced in defence by veteran Phil Jagielka, who becomes the oldest player to start a Premier League match this term.
