After a simple tip from Shea McGee, however, I think I've finally figured out how to create a picture-perfect tablescape that still feels warm and inviting.

'When I'm setting up for the holidays, I always like to do a more formal tablescape, because I think it makes the event feel special and memorable,' Shea explains in the video. 'But there always has to be an element of feeling relaxed, as well – which is why I love to incorporate woven textures, because it's a nice juxtaposition.'
Just like the rustic pieces that adorn Shea's 'festive farmhouse' table, these additions can bring instant warmth to a scheme, creating a look that maintains a sense of sophistication while still feeling utterly inviting.
'When it comes to holiday hosting, we love adding small, unexpected details that make guests feel special and welcome,' writes Shea in the caption. 'Layers, woven textures or a simple ribbon can bring just the right touch of festive charm without feeling overdone.'
