A woman is going viral on TikTok after calling out a nosy Walmart shopper who questioned her size while she shopped for bathing suits.
User @iwiniwin68, who describes herself as an entrepreneur, consultant, and community activist, says she was “minding her own business” when another woman approached her about some sale items. At first, the interaction seemed helpful. The woman pointed out that the bathing suits advertised for $1 were actually ringing up at 50 cents at checkout.
But according to @iwiniwin68, things quickly took a turn. The conversation shifted from helpful to weird, and the interaction left her shaking her head. As of Wednesday, her video sharing the story had racked up more than 407,000 views.
What Happened Next?
After pointing out the price, the woman reportedly told @iwiniwin68 that she had bought all the extra-large swimsuits for herself. That wasn’t an issue, since depending on the brand, @iwiniwin68 said she can fit into medium or large sizes.
“She said, nuh-uh, you’re bigger than me,” @iwiniwin68 recalled, adding, “I don’t even know this lady.”
The woman then asked to compare weights, revealing she herself weighed 205 pounds.
“I ain’t even stopped to get my coffee first,” @iwiniwin68 said, suggesting it was too early for such a bizarre encounter. She summed up the interaction as equal parts strange and uncomfortable.
“There is nothing like a trip to Walmart to snap you back into reality,” she captioned her video. “This lady, who I don’t know, literally requested proof of size. I mean for $.50 I can be as delusional as I want.”
How Does Walmart’s Sizing Work?
Some Walmart customers have noted before that its swimsuit sizing can be confusing because every brand and style runs a little differently. So, if you’re looking to buy yourself some new clothes from there, especially while they’re on sale, there are a few steps you can take beforehand to set yourself up for success.
The first step is to make sure you have your proper measurements—specifically, your chest, hips, and torso—and compare them to the size chart for the swimsuit you want. As @iwiniwin68 alluded to in her clip, each suit has its own chart, so don’t rely on your usual size. Some brands have their own fit quirks, so checking the chart is the safest bet.
Reading customer reviews before you buy might also be helpful. Plenty of people have reviewed Walmart’s clothes online, and chances are, if you do your research beforehand, you can figure out pretty easily if a suit runs small, large, or true to size, which can save you from guessing wrong. Some swimsuits have stretch, too, so if you’re between sizes or want a snug fit, sizing down can work.
If you’re unsure, a good strategy is to order two sizes and return the one that doesn’t fit. The Walmart app can also help you check prices and availability before you go, which is handy if you’re shopping in-store.
The key is measuring yourself, checking the product chart, reading reviews, and thinking about stretch. Doing all that means you’re less likely to buy the wrong size and more likely to leave the store (or your package at home) ready to swim when the weather calls for it.

Viewers Call Out Stranger’s Audacity
Commenters who watched @iwiniwin68’s video were less focused on Walmart’s sizing and more shocked that a stranger would try to compare weights in the middle of the store.
“She took no boundaries too literally,” one woman wrote, playfully referencing Walmart’s No Boundaries brand.
“Why are people so intrusive?” another added.
“Why do [people] say stuff like this unprovoked?” another commenter wondered.
“Nooo, she didn’t,” a third said. “Lady, if you don’t go to the left like Beyonce said,” added another.
Many suggested that @iwiniwin68 showed more patience than they would have in the situation, imagining their own snarky responses to such invasive questions.
“I would’ve said, ‘Damn you only 205?!!” one woman joked.
“I would’ve said 204,” another added.
“You’re better than me,” said a third.
“Unfortunately, I would have something very snarky to say back,” a fourth commenter admitted.
