Shamrock Rovers v Ludogorets date, kick-off time, TV and stream information, team news, betting odds and more

Shamrock Rovers are hoping to pull off a European comeback for the ages in Tallaght stadium against Bulgarian side Ludogorets.

Ludogorets showed their pedigree in the first leg of this qualification tie as they ran out 3-0 winners.

The late concession of the third goal particularly bugged Stephen Bradley as his side sloppily gifted possession to the home side and were punished to all but put the tie out of reach for them.

Here are all of the details around the second leg though:

What date and time does the match get under way?

The match will be played on Tuesday July 26 with kick-off set for 8 pm.

What TV channel is it on and can I stream it?

It doesn't appear to be available to watch on television although it is worth giving RTE News Now (channel numbers: Saorview 21, Virgin 200, Sky 521, Eir 500) a try as they previously broadcast Rovers' games against Hibernians there.

However, it is not currently listed either there or anywhere else on television so that means the only option for those not able to attend in person is to shell out €7 for the LOI TV stream.

What's the team news?

Rovers' biggest issue is at the back as defensive linchpin Roberto 'Pico' Lopes hobbled off against Drogheda United at the weekend with a knee injury and has been ruled out.

Ireland midfielder Jack Byrne is also on the absentee list.

“Pico is going for a scan tomorrow,” Bradley explained on Monday afternoon. “He’s definitely out tomorrow. We'll have to wait for the scan to see how it is.”

He added: “It’s a blow. He's been brilliant for us. He’s a real leader.

“I’ve no doubt that he will stay around training and around the dressing room (during recuperation).

“In my opinion he’s the best centre-back in the country. So, any team would miss him and we’re no different.

“We don’t know (if it’s a long-term injury). We have it in a brace at the moment to steady it But they don’t really know until we get the scan.

“He could be back playing Friday or we’re not sure. We have to listen to the docs and medics and trust it.”

What are the betting odds?

Ludogorets are slight favorites to win in 90 minutes at 13/10 while the home side are 19/10. A draw is available at 21/10.

As for who will progress from the tie overall, Ludogorets are heavily fancied at 1/500 while the back-to-back League of Ireland champions are 18/1.
