Shamrock Rovers fan keeps cup final promise and gets tattoo of manager Stephen Bradley

A Shamrock Rovers superfan has kept his word and got a tattoo of the club's manager Stephen Bradley following their heroic FAI Cup success last year.

The Tallaght side defeated Dundalk on penalties at the Aviva Stadium in November for their 25th Cup success - and their first since 1987.

Hoops fan Darren Glennon had doubted his beloved club - and the manager in particular - before the game and vowed to get a tattoo of Bradley should the Tallaght side emerge victorious.

Many months after the success Mr Glennon had yet to be inked but the Dubliner finally followed through and got a large tattoo of the club's boss on his arm last weekend.

Mark Daly did the tattoo at Xzibit Ink in Killinarden House, Tallaght, with Bradley even popping in to surprise Glennon as he got inked.

Speaking after getting the tattoo, Glennon said: "Last September I made a promise that should the Hoops win their 25th FAI cup, I would mark the occasion with a tattoo of our manager Stephen Bradley.

"As most of you know, I have been somewhat of a doubting Thomas when it came to this guy's credentials for the job.

"I stated that I didn't think he was the man to deliver the cup, and if he did I would mark the occasion. True to my word, I've finally had the ink done."

Rovers fans have raised over €32,000 for their club through  a Go Fund Me  during the Covid-19 pandemic and also provided the funds for Glennon to get tattooed.

The league leaders return to action with a home game against Finn Harps at 5pm on Saturday and the question is what ink will Glennon end up with if they are crowned champions?
