Jonathan Tiffoney has received a notice of complaint from the SFA over his alleged mental health comment towards former Albion Rovers star David Cox.
The former Stenhousemuir defender was accused of taunting Cox over his previous suicide attempt and it led to the 32 year-old leaving Ochilview at half-time and retiring from football.
Tiffoney's SFA charge relates to excessive conduct for the comments made during the League Two clash on Saturday, April 29 and he will face a disciplinary hearing on Thursday, June 3.
The 29-year-old refuted making the alleged slur and insisted that he had been the victim of abuse during the game.
He previously said: "Media reports have indicated that I abused David Cox by referencing and attacking his mental health during last night‘s football match between Stenhousemuir and Albion Rovers.

“This is simply untrue. Throughout the first half of the game, I was subjected to abuse and disparaging comments from the Albion Rovers dug out. I did not react to these."
“I would never attack another player’s mental health or wellbeing and will fully cooperate with the Scottish FA investigation into this matter.”
Tiffoney was handed a 'leave of absence' by Stenny but he was subsequently released by the League Two club when his contract expired.
Cox has spoken openly about suffering from depression in the past and he is patron for mental health charity Back Onside.
