Sex Education extras wanted for new series of worldwide hit Netflix show

Hit Netflix series Sex Education is searching for extras to appear in the latest season of the show - and that person could be you.

Time to get your high school gear on again, as producers at Netflix are looking for people to appear on screen with Otis (Asa Butterfield) and his mates in season four. Students are wanted as extras for Sex Education, so you could be chilling in science with Otis, or learning all about Romeo and Juliet with Ruby Matthews.

Filming is just about to begin for the latest series of the show, reports GloucestershireLive, and casting company, Mad Dog 2020, have stated that those interested in the job will need to be available between August and November. Consistency is key, as there will be a lot of excited fans wanting to sign up for this opportunity, so people have been advised to be patient if you struggle to get through the process.

The previous three seasons of Sex Education have been filmed across the Forest of Dean, the Wye Valley and South Wales. The show surrounds sex therapist Jean Milburn (Gillian Anderson) who lives with her son Otis (Asa Butterfield) in a chalet overlooking Symonds Yat in the Wye Valley.

At the end of the last series, the school all the characters were attending had closed down, so one location that will not be used is the University of Wales campus in Caerleon. However, Digital Spy has reported that the other cast members will be scattered across lots of different educational buildings, so extras are wanted to play several different young students in those schools.

The advert that Mad Dog 2020 Casting has released states: "Seeking extras for Sex Education S4. We're especially interested to hear from people aged 18-26 to play students. No experience required. "

But the appeal warns: "Due to the volume of emails some may bounce back. Please keep trying. "

Some of the original cast members will also be leaving the show ahead of season four, including Scotland's very own Ncuti Gatwa. Ncuti, who plays Otis' best mate Eric, has been confirmed as the next Doctor in Doctor Who, and will most likely be unavailable for filming.

Actress Simone Ashley has also confirmed she will be leaving behind the character of Olivia in Sex Education to focus on her role in Bridgerton. Asa Butterfield will return as Otis, and Hollywood star Gillian Anderson is expected to return as his sex therapist mother, Jean.

Those who are interested in becoming an extra on Sex Education should email the casting crew here. Sex Education's previous series are available on Netflix right now.
