Sex And The City's Kim Cattrall would 'love to go' to Eurovision in Liverpool

Sex and the City’s resident Scouser Kim Cattrall is excited for her hometown to host Eurovision next year.

The actress – who was born in Liverpool before moving to Canada as a baby – plans to make an appearance at the ceremony, while visiting family in the city.

“It’s going to be a hoot and a half,” she laughs.

“If my schedule allows it, I’ll be going.”

Speaking at the Glamour Women of the Year awards, she added: “I’ve still got family there, and I love to go. I’ve got a portrait in the Walker gallery. It’s a grand place to be from.

“Eurovision forever!”

The ceremony will be held at the Liverpool Arena in May.

The actress was named a Screen Icon at the ceremony, and said women should be celebrated more frequently.

“As the world gets more complicated, people need strong female representation,” she said at the bash at The Outernet in Central London.”

In a new interview with the mag, Kim, 66, said she experiences misogyny “every day”.

“Especially when I’m by myself,” she said. “I get treated differently when I’m with a man.”

Rita Ora brought her mum and sister along as her dates for the night, as she collected the Entertainer gong.

The singer wed New Zealand director Taika Waititi over the summer, and the pair will host the MTV European Music Awards on Sunday.

Host Katherine Ryan, left, brilliantly referred to him as Rita’s “current husband”.

He was probably glad he wasn’t there.
