Severe Weather Threat Across Southern US

Aftermath of the July extreme weather in Schuld at the Ahr river in Germany

After a rainy night in New York City, the weather is finally starting to clear up, although other areas are still being affected by a significant weather system. As the system moves up the east coast, Boston and parts of interior New England can expect more rain, with flood alerts still in place. However, there is some good news for Washington D.C. as the system is expected to move out in time for the State of the Union address tonight. The forecast for D.C. looks promising with temperatures around the mid-50s and mostly clear skies in the evening.

Looking ahead, the focus shifts to the southern regions, particularly Texas, the Gulf Coast, and the southeast. The red areas on the map indicate a potential risk of severe weather from Thursday through Saturday. Residents in these areas should stay informed and prepared for any adverse weather conditions that may arise.
