Severe Rainfall Alert: Heavy rain forecast in many states including Rajasthan, UP, Maharashtra, Delhi-NCR, Odisha, Gujarat, Hyderabad and more

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall across the country from July 30 to August 1. Rainfall activity is expected to remain intense on Friday, with alerts issued for multiple regions, including north, central, east, northeast, west, and southern India. Thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds are also likely in several areas, as active monsoon conditions continue to prevail nationwide.

Heavy Rainfall in North and Central India

According to the forecast, intense rainfall is expected in several northern and central states and union territories, including Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh.

Eastern and Northeastern Regions on Alert

Heavy showers are also likely across eastern and northeastern India. States such as Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are expected to experience significant rainfall activity.

Western and Southern States to Receive Rain

In western and southern parts of the country, regions including Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu are also likely to witness heavy rainfall.

Delhi-NCR weather today

Delhi–NCR is expected to witness a cloudy day with intermittent light to moderate rainfall, bringing slight relief from the prevailing heat but also increasing humidity levels. There is a possibility of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds across the region, including Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad.
