Seven people seriously injured in horror two-vehicle crash on rural road

Seven people suffered serious injuries in a horror crash in north Wales this evening.

Three air ambulances were called to the scene of the smash on the A5104 near the village of Treuddyn in Flintshire.

North Wales Police were called to the scene at 5.40pm today after a crash involving a white Ford van and a black Volvo.

Sgt Jason Diamond, said: “The collision resulted in seven people being taken to Wrexham Maelor and Stoke University Hospital this evening with injuries which are described as serious.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage of the vehicles to come forward.”

Stoke University Hospital has one of the best severe trauma centres in the north west of the UK.

The Wales Air Ambulances all transferred casualties to the hospital.

The road remained closed as of 9.15pm with investigations underway at the scene.
