The Northern Territory has recorded another seven cases of coronavirus — all among Australians who recently arrived on Federal Government-organised repatriation flights.
The new cases include five adults in their 20s and 30s, alongside a baby boy, who returned from Chennai, India on New Year's Day.
A 26-year-old woman has also returned a positive test after returning from London two days earlier.
The new cases, which amount to the Northern Territory's largest single-day increase, take the Territory's total caseload to 83.
Forty-seven of those cases have been among the 2,192 people who have returned to Australia since Qantas flights began repatriating people from England, India, France and Germany in late October.
People returning to Australia on international flights arranged by the Federal Government are taken directly to the Howard Springs facility, where they stay in a separate area to any domestic travellers in quarantine.
All seven of the new cases remain in the care of specialist health teams at the facility.
Another repatriation flight from Frankfurt is due to touch down in Darwin tomorrow, followed by flights from London and New Delhi in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, health authorities are continuing to monitor the coronavirus situation in Victoria, where 10 new locally acquired cases were diagnosed in the past day.
All of Greater Metropolitan Sydney was declared a coronavirus hotspot earlier this week.
