Seven Merseyside businesses have been named as finalists by The Food Awards England 2022.
The Food Awards England aim to celebrate the best in the food industry; from the excellent restaurants, chefs and servers, to the specialists and suppliers. The awards return for 2022 with a huge black-tie ceremony in June and ahead of the main event, the finalists have been announced for each category.
The 2022 awards will present a wide range of accolades including Restaurant of the Year, Best Mexican Establishment, Retail Bakery of the Year, Best World Cuisine and more. Merseyside venues have now been named finalists in a number of categories.

A spokesperson for The Food Awards England said: “England offers a wide range of places that serve world cuisines. The finalists were voted for by the public for providing authentic recipes and unique dishes to their diners, creating memorable experiences for both residents and visitors.
“Undoubtedly, there are some amazing specialists around the country, who know how to offer great service, delicious food and meet the expectations of their diners. These are the professionals that we aim to reward at The Food Awards England 2022.

Cafe of the Year - Park Cafe, Aigburth
Gastro Pub of the Year - The Sparrowhawk, Formby
Caterer of the Year - GWF Catering
Best Mediterranean Establishment - Salt House Tapas, Hanover Street
Best Oriental Establishment - Suay Pan Asian Restaurant, Formby
Best Vegetarian Establishment - The Egg Cafe, Newington
Burger Bar of the Year - Free State Kitchen, Maryland Street
