SEVEN people have been charged in connection with a hate crime at a football match where a disabled fan was allegedly verbally abused.

The alleged abusive behaviour occurred at the St Mirren vs Aberdeen football match on May 3 at St Mirren Park.

Video footage on social media was shared by other fans in a bid to identify those involved.

Two teenage boys, both aged 16, have been charged with threatening and abusive behaviour.

Five men aged 23, 23, 22, 22 and 19, were also charged.

A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal over the incident at the ground in Paisley

Constable Louise Sung, of Police Scotland, said: “Thank you to both clubs for their co-operation and assistance in our investigation.”
