Serious incident on A726 leaves car crumpled by the roadside

Police

Cops on morning patrol found a badly-damaged car in bushes at the busy Hurlet Road.

Images show a severely damaged vehicle, which appears to have careered off the road, narrowly avoiding a lamppost, and into foliage.

Officers say they spotted the vehicle around 11.25am this morning (Tuesday, June 28) and arranged for recovery teams to collect it.

Police did not confirm whether anybody was injured as a result of the incident and the Scottish Ambulance Service said they had not been called out.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Around 11.25am on Tuesday, 28 June, officers on patrol came across a one car crash on Hurlet Road. Officer assisted and recovery was being arranged."
