Serial offender warned he "must co-operate" to avoid going back to jail

A serial offender from Hamilton has been warned he must co-operate with drug workers if he is to avoid being sent back to prison.

Jamie Jones, 31, of Low Waters Road, appeared from custody at Hamilton Sheriff Court last week.

He was due to be sentenced on a string of charges including theft, assault, shoplifting and threatening or abusive behaviour.

The court also heard he had breached bail conditions several times.

Sentence was deferred until January 22 for a drug treatment order assessment and Jones was again given bail.

Sheriff Moira MacKenzie warned him: “It’s very much in your interests to co-operate throughout the assessment procedure. If you don’t it’s likely you’ll be remanded in custody again.”
