Sergio Ramos in Paris Saint Germain mystery as £18m per season defender fails to make an appearance and no injury return date set

Mauricio Pochettino admits he has no idea when Sergio Ramos will be able to make his Paris Saint-Germain debut as the defender continues to struggle with injury.

The World Cup winner left Real Madrid at the end of last season, signing a two-year deal at the Parc des Princes.

The 35-year-old's contract is worth a reported €21m (£18m) per season, but fans have been left waiting for him to make his debut.

Ramos suffered a thigh injury in July and hasn't even been part of a squad yet, nor trained together with Lionel Messi and co.

The Spanish international struggled with his fitness in his final season in Madrid, making just 21 appearances in all competitions and only five after January 14.

And Ramos appears to be some way off pulling on the PSG kit as his manager confesses he has no idea when the legendary centre-back will return.

Asked if a return date had been set for the defender, Pochettino admitted: "No, not yet.

"He's working and getting better every day, we'll see when the time is right. He continues to work.

"Injured players do not necessarily have the same schedules as other players.

"He does not get involved in group training

"But I have no doubts about his integration. He was captain of Real Madrid, he has everything to succeed."
