If you live in East Lothian and tend to venture up to Edinburgh for a nice dinner out, save yourself the train fare as a brand new pizza restaurant has opened in Dunbar.
Hector’s, housed in what was formerly Splatz Activity Cafe on the high street, proudly uses the finest local ingredients and aims to source all of their products from within 30 miles of the restaurant.
They say: "From flour to cheese and charcuterie we aim to source all our products from within 30 miles - this give us traceability and reduces our carbon footprint whilst supporting local farmers and producers."
The massive and modern-looking restaurant can sit 58 covers at once (although that's currently less due to social distancing measures) and their menu looks delicious.
Locally-sourced cheese boards and charcuterie plates are an absolute bargain at a fiver each and they even offer a selection of Sgaia Vegan Charcuterie for non-meat eaters.
Pizzas include the 'Belhaven Banger' - pork sausage made with fresh herbs, spices and Belhaven Best beer and topped with mozzarella and tomato.

If you still have space left after your 12 inch pizza the desserts include a tablet sundae and a 'choc-board' - chocolates and a mini hot choc from Chocolate Tree in Dunbar.
The restaurant is currently open for delivery, collection and sit-in from lunchtime until 'late' 7 days a week - orders can be made here.
