Security warning to students after police manage to walk straight into THREE houses

Students have been told to lock their doors after police managed to walk straight into THREE different houses without being caught.

According to officers, they didn't even have to try a handle - the doors were wide open.

They branded what they found in south Manchester 'an unbelievable lack in personal security', and issued a warning to students living in the Fallowfield and Withington area urging them to sort it out.

An officer posted on the GMP Fallowfield, Withington, Levenshulme and Burnage Facebook page: "Today while conducting routine visits to properties throughout Withington and Fallowfield I was able to walk into three (YES THREE) houses that had left their front doors open (all student properties).

"I’m talking full on open door, no need to even try a handle.

"This is an unbelievable lack in personal security and there were many items within hallways that I could have very easily made off with, without anyone being any the wiser.

"Please, please, please do not get slack on your security measures just because it is nearly time to leave.

"Imagine how miserable of an ending that would be to your term. Stay safe guys."
