Officers want to speak to this man after police car rammed by stolen van

Police have released CCTV pictures of a man they want to speak to after a police car was rammed by a stolen van.

The stolen Ford Transit was first spotted on Park Road in Oldham at around 12.20pm on Tuesday, June 28, police said. The van was being driven on false plates and was acting suspiciously.

Officers gave chase along Wellington Street before the van rammed at the police car. The vehicle is still off the road after being damaged.

Police have now issued CCTV images of a man they want to talk to about the incident. Police Sergeant Michael Mooney of GMP’s Transport Unit said: "It’s important we find out who has caused the damage to what is an important vehicle in the fleet to help fight crime on our roads.

"Thankfully officers didn’t receive injuries at the time, but it doesn’t take away the severity of the incident and why we would like the help of the public to assist us in our investigation."
