Sean Payton had an intriguing idea for Zion Williamson’s time in New Orleans

The New Orleans Pelicans went into Tuesday night’s lottery with a 6 percent chance at landing the No. 1 pick. So, few expected that Zion Williamson would actually end up in the Big Easy.

But now that he is certainly heading to the Pelicans, Williamson is being presented with some interesting opportunities.

Like, uh, playing for the New Orleans Saints. OK, not really, but Sean Payton at least floated the idea on Wednesday.

The Saints head coach took to Twitter and posted a Photoshopped pic of Williamson in a Saints uniform. If Zion was interested, I’m sure Payton could accommodate a workout for a 6-foot-6, 285-pound superathlete.

Despite Williamson being able to throw a football into orbit, he hasn’t played competitive football since his childhood.

But hey, he’s probably a quick learner. Make it happen, Saints. The city can have a legitimate two-sport superstar.

Something tells me that the Pelicans won’t be too receptive about that idea, though.
