Sean McVay provides update on Brandin Cooks’ hamstring

Brandin Cooks was forced to exit Thursday’s practice against the Los Angeles Chargers a bit early after he felt tightness in his hamstring. He was replaced by Mike Thomas, who stepped in and had a strong day on the field.

Hamstring injuries are always somewhat concerning for players, especially explosive and fast ones like Cooks, but the Rams wide receiver is expected to be fine. Sean McVay provided a positive update after practice Friday, saying Cooks should be back on Saturday.

“There’s really not,” McVay said of any injuries the Rams have had. “I think more than anything, it’s more preventative maintenance. Brandin is feeling good. He didn’t do anything, he just kind of felt a little tightness in his hamstring. We expect him to be good to go tomorrow.”

It’ll be great to have Cooks back out there on Saturday for the Rams’ second practice against the Chargers. He’s a crucial part of the offense and keeping him healthy for the entire season is a big priority.
