Seamus Coleman on Everton's plans to keep Kurt Zouma - and why Richarlison is going nowhere

Seamus Coleman believes Everton will be doing ‘all they can’ to sign Kurt Zouma after the defender continued his impressive form against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Zouma, 24, has made 30 Premier League appearances for the Chelsea's Kurt Zouma transfer stance assessed - and what chance Everton have of permanent deal in August and is believed to be a priority target for Marco Silva and Marcel Brands .

Everton have now kept seven clean sheets in their last nine games and Coleman admitted he would like to line up alongside the Frenchman next season.

Everton set for major squad revamp which could see two teams of unwanted players axed

“I just told him I’ve got a contract for him in my bag and will he sign it!” the full-back joked after the goalless draw at Selhurst Park.

“He’s been brilliant. Even today at different times they looked like they looked like they were going to get away on the break but he’s a strong boy who gets his body in the way.

“He’s quite happy to take the ball out from the back and he’s been a great signing.

“I don’t know any inside information but I’m sure the likes of Marcel and the manager will be doing all they can to keep him but I’m sure equally Chelsea will want to keep him so it’s quite difficult.”

Forward Richarlison has also been linked with Barcelona and Manchester United recently but Coleman dismissed suggestions Everton could lose him in the summer.

The Brazilian has bagged 13 goals this term since arriving from Watford for £35m and has quickly established himself as a fans favourite.

Coleman and Richarlison have been a mainstay of Everton’s right flank during the recent upturn in form and Coleman is enjoying the experience of linking up with the 21-year-old.

“Playing with Richy has been great,” he added. “He’s a young lad but he’s very strong and very willing.

“He’s a proper Everton player and has got that quality we’ve all seen and the goals we’ve all seen.

“He’s got that work-rate and desire to help that any full-back needs in front of him. That’s been good and I’ve really enjoyed linking up with him.

“Richarlison won’t be going anywhere,” Coleman continued. “He’s been great and I’m sure he appreciates the manager’s trust and loyalty.

“He spent a lot of money to bring him from Watford and I seen him celebrating his Man United goal last week. He’s very happy to be here and we’re happy to have him.

“We always want to build on what we have and try and get some players in for next season and make sure they’re good enough to play for this club.”
