Seahawks safety Marquise Blair leaves Vikings game with back spasms

The Seattle Seahawks suffered a number of injuries in their 25-19 loss to the Minnesota Vikings Sunday night.

Backup quarterback Paxton Lynch left the matchup after a helmet to helmet hit and entered the concussion protocol. Offensive lineman Demetrius Knox and rookie safety Marquise Blair were both carted off the field into the locker room in the second half.

Blair, who has been a standout for Seattle throughout training camp, was unable to return to the game.

“He had back spasms in the second half,” Carroll told reporters during his post-game press conference. “So I don’t know what that means, but he had a play and his back got tight, and it kept getting tighter and he couldn’t go back.”

Carroll should be able to provide additional updates on Blair and the rest of Seattle’s injured players when the Seahawks resume practice later this week after off days on Monday and Tuesday.
