Seahawks reenact Russell Wilson’s video announcing contract extension

Just before 1:00 a.m. PT. on April 16, roughly an hour after Russell Wilson’s imposed negotiation deadline had passed, Wilson and his wife, R&B singer Ciara, announced on Twitter he had struck a deal to remain with the Seattle Seahawks.

The video Wilson posted raised some eyebrows, as it featured the two in bed. Wilson was shirtless and wearing multiple neck chains, while Ciara was hiding under the covers.

Wilson, in a voice that sounded like it belonged in a baritone choir, announced the deal and told fans they could all go to bed now.

The video has prompted a handful of reenactments, none more perfect than this one from receiver Tyler Lockett and right guard D.J. Fluker:

The attention to detail is phenomenal. Lockett, armed with what appears to be running back Chris Carson’s necklace, does his best to impersonate Wilson’s gravelly voice.

Meanwhile, Fluker makes a surprise appearance imitating Ciara, hiding under a white blanket and saying “Go Hawks” in a high-pitched voice, one that doesn’t quite do the five-time Grammy-nominated singer any justice . . . although it certainly adds plenty of humor to the clip.
