Seahawks promote 2 from practice squad in series of roster moves

The Seattle Seahawks have promoted guard Jordan Roos and tight end Jacob Hollister from the practice squad.

In order to make room on the active roster, the team placed guard Ethan Pocic on the injured reserve and waived safety Adrian Colbert.

The Seahawks announced that guard D.J. Fluker and tackle Duane Brown are both doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Browns, so the team was in desperate need of additional depth on the line.

Roos joined the Seahawks in 2017 and has spent a lot of time on the active roster, so he gives the team their much needed depth up front. He has primarily played guard in his career.

Hollister had a strong performance in training camp and the preseason. He will be Seattle’s third tight end alongside Will Dissly and Luke Willson.

George Fant, who normally occupies that role, is expected to play left tackle in place of Brown.

Pocic has not played since Week 2 with a neck injury, and coach Pete Carroll’s quotes on Friday indicated a placement on the injured reserve might be coming for the young, versatile lineman.

Colbert was signed to the practice squad and quickly promoted to the active roster, but he has been a healthy inactive in each of the last two games.

It seems likely the team will try to get him back onto the practice squad, if possible.
