Seahawks host free agent DT Caraun Reid on a visit

The Seattle Seahawks signed their first two free agents of the offseason, inking kicker Jason Myers and guard Mike Iupati to deals while also re-signing linebacker K.J. Wright, guard D.J. Fluker and linebacker Mychal Kendricks.

It was a busy day for Seattle, who reportedly hosted former Cowboys defensive tackle Caraun Reid on a visit as well.

Reid played in 10 games for the Cowboys last season, recording 10 combined tackles, three quarterback hits, one forced fumble and 0.5 sacks. He earned an above average 66.1 grade from Pro Football Focus.

The 27-year-old was originally a fourth round pick by the Detroit Lions back in 2014. He spent two years in Detroit before bouncing to San Diego, playing one game with Detroit in 2017, and then ending up in Dallas.

With Shamar Stephen headed to Minnesota via free agency, the Seahawks are in need of more depth on the interior defensive line. Jarran Reed and Poona Ford are expected to start up front, with Nazair Jones expected to see more time at five-tech.

Reid would give the team solid depth at a key position of need in 2019.
