Seahawks’ Frank Clark wants to get moving on his contract

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Frank Clark, like most of the Seattle fan base, is ready for the 2019 season to begin. Just one day after Super Bowl LIII, Clark took to Twitter to express his readiness for next season, where he has made it clear he hopes to be playing in Seattle with a new contract.

Clark is set to hit free agency for the first time in his career, coming off a career season where he recorded 13.0 sacks, three forced fumbles and one interception.

Both Clark and the Seahawks have indicated a desire to keep the star edge defender in Seattle long-term. Even with Clark and tackle Jarran Reed, Seattle struggled to generate a consistent pass rush last year. Losing Clark would be extremely detrimental to this team’s defense, so it is no surprise bringing him back is a big priority.

At just 26, Clark is expected to command a hefty payday. Seattle may struggle to sign other marquee names if they have to pay for Clark and eventually Russell Wilson, who is expected to explore an extension with the Seahawks this offseason.
