SDMC plans digital rejig of OPD services at its health centres

NEW DELHI: South Delhi Municipal Corporation is planning to computerise the outpatient discharge services in its health centers to ease the registration process, which will reduce the waiting time for patients.

There are currently 96 health centres run by the corporation, including a Covid centre, colony hospitals, mother and child hospitals, and polyclinics. Computerising the the registration process will make the process faster and public friendly.

The commissioner of SDMC, Gyanesh Bharti, had said this during his budget speech in the corporation about making new changes to the health department.

Among the facilities provided by the corporation includes a Covid care centre, two tuberculosis and chest clinics, 10 polyclinics, three colony hospitals and 16 maternity and child welfare centres, among other such facilities.

According to the south corporation, in the financial year of 2020-21, a total of 21,240,73 people availed the health facilities provided at all the centres across its jurisdiction.
