Scottish youngsters go viral after Six Nations photo shared online

A GROUP of rugby-mad youngsters from Helensburgh have gone viral after a photo of them at the under-20 Six Nations was shared online.

Helensburgh Rugby Club's P7 team attended Scotland's match again Wales at Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow on Friday evening.

The boys were sat behind a group of young Wales fans and became acquainted with them over the course of the game.

The photo was shared on Facebook by Ruck.co.uk – a rugby union news outlet – and has now attracted more than 15,000 likes.

Coach Mark Bone said: "We had a great time getting to know them during the match, and their youngsters were teaching our guys some Welsh.

"One of our parents shared the experience on a couple of rugby Facebook pages, and the sentiment of two opposing groups making friends with each other has really taken off.

"We have even made contact with the Welsh fans' club, Clwb Rygbi Bethesda, from just outside Bangor, and we're hoping we can arrange visiting and hosting them for some friendly matches in the near future."

The photo was shared by Ruck.co.uk with the caption "things you love to see", with many social media users praising the youngsters in the comments.

One user said: "This is exactly why the home/away segregation should never be allowed in rugby. Camaraderie mixed with friendly rivalry – love it!"

Another added: "This is one of the reasons I love the sport, no matter the team, the spectators are there for the game and not malicious rivalry."

Dan King's late penalty sealed an 18-17 win for Scotland at Scotstoun.
