POLICE have blocked off a road in a north east town after an old, unexploded bomb was found.
Officers have cordoned off Elgin’s Edgar Road, in the south of the ancient city, and called in the bomb squad.
The report was made to Police Scotland a little after midday on Wednesday.
In a statement, the force said: “Around 12.35pm on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, we were called to a report of an old unexploded ordnance device found in the Edgar Road area of Elgin.
“A cordon is in place around the area as a precaution and EOD [Explosive Ordnance Disposal] have been informed.”
The news comes one day after another old bomb – described as a “wartime munition” – was found and destroyed in Renfrewshire.
