Scottish pensioner found dead on bus after falling off seat

A SCOTTISH pensioner was found to have died on a bus to Glasgow after passengers saw him fall off his seat.

The 69-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene after police were called to the CityLink service to Glasgow.

Passengers told the Daily Record that they thought the man had been sleeping, before he fell off his seat at a roundabout in Baillieston.

The driver was alerted and police called to the Swinton Roundabout on Monday afternoon.

The force said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police were made aware of a 69-year-old man having taken unwell on a bus at the Swinton Roundabout, Baillieston, Glasgow, around 4.45pm on Monday, 17 October, 2022.

“Emergency services attended, however the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
