Scottish model has bagged a dream job stepping into the shoes of one of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Glasgow-born Aimee Logan, 23, was chosen to act as Sofia Vergara’s body double in a major TV advert for beauty giant Schwarzkopf.
Sofia, the Colombian-American actress and America’s Got Talent judge, is often hailed as the “hottest woman on the planet” but that didn’t put Aimee off. The young model jetted out to Madrid for the shoot and even shared snaps on social media alongside the award-winning actress, model and TV host.
Aimee admitted it was an unforgettable experience. “This was a fun gig! Super privileged to have gotten to work with some extremely talented creatives and the icon herself, Sofia Vergara. This is a job I’ll truly never forget,” she told her followers, reported the Daily Record.
With her long brunette locks and striking features, Aimee was a natural fit for the role. She was booked through her Glasgow modelling agency, Colours, and was styled in matching outfits with Sofia. The pair mirrored one another in silky tops and jeans as well as elegant black evening dresses for the high-profile shoot.
Colours agency boss Alison Bruce was quick to praise her, writing: “Are we seeing double? From Glasgow to Madrid… and into the icon Sofia Vergara’s shoes (literally). Our superstar, Aimee Logan, travelled to Madrid to perform as a body double of Sofia Vergara for Schwarzkopf Hair and we couldn’t be more proud. This role was literally made for her.”
Aimee, who began modelling a decade ago, has recently relocated to New York where her career has started to take off in a big way. She explained that the move came about after her boyfriend was offered a job there. “My boyfriend got offered a job in New York and I was like, ‘You’re stupid not to take it, this is something you need to do’. Although I’ve always had a feeling I was going to go to New York – I found a mood board I made when I was 22 and New York’s all over it.”
(@aimeealexandralogan)Despite moving across the Atlantic, Aimee says the Big Apple reminds her of home. “I think Glasgow is really cool and has an amazing fashion scene, even when you’re going out,” she said. “There’s definitely some kind of culture in Glasgow that people feel embarrassed to do something out the box or do something different or dress different and if you do you’ll get the p**s taken out you.
“In New York, people walk around wearing whatever they want. I don’t think anyone in New York is judging anyone, I think they see fashion as a way to express yourself and just wear what makes you feel good. I can’t compare the two, though. Glasgow and New York are quite similar so it’s like a home away from home. They’re both amazing in their own ways.”
For Aimee, sharing the screen with Sofia Vergara has been the highlight of her career so far, and it’s a gig she admits she’ll never forget.
