Six new coronavirus deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours across Scotland, the Scottish Government has confirmed.
1,003 cases of the virus were also recorded overnight, taking the total since the start of the pandemic in March to 179,685.
Currently, there are 1,941 people in hospital being treated for Covid-19, while 143 people remain in intensive care unit.
Since the end of January last year, a total of 6,106 people have died of the virus after returning a positive test.
The news comes as scientists warn despite the vaccine that it may be years for life to 'return to normal'.
Dr Clare Wenham, assistant professor of global health policy at the London School of Economics, said that normality will resume once the entire world has been given their coronavirus jab.
The health expert has anticipated that vaccines will not be distributed globally until 2023/24.
Scottish Government data shows that more than half a million Scots have already received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
But there have been concerns raised about the pace of the roll-out in Scotland.
