Scottish Government announces 43 more deaths overnight with 1,314 new cases

A further 43 coronavirus deaths have been recorded in Scotland over the last 24 hours.

The Scottish Government have published the latest figures which have seen a further 1,314 new cases of Covid-19 overnight.

1,008 are currently in hospital with 56 in intensive care.

The news comes has Scots prepare for one day of household mixing to mark Christmas tomorrow.

Up to three households and up to eight people will be allowed to mix indoors for one day only.

However, Scottish Government officials and medical experts have warned that safety measures such as face masks and social distancing should be applied where possible.

Scots are also being urged to reduce contact with other households if they can and only travel if necessary.
