Scottish driver goes wrong way along busy dual-carriageway in heart-stopping video

Motorists on a Fife road were left in a state of alarm after a driver was spotted going the wrong way along a busy dual-carriageway.

One baffled road user caught the incident on dashcam on Wednesday morning, with the footage shared on the Fife Jammer Locations social media channel.

The video shows the confused driver facing oncoming traffic, although moving very slowly, in a light blue car on Queensway in Glenrothes. Other vehicles could be seen reducing their speed in order to avoid an accident on the road, which is close to the town's Morrisons supermarket.

At time of writing the video had been viewed almost 30,000 times, with hundreds of comments left by concerned viewers. Some people were even suggesting it's not unusual to see vehicles going the wrong way along the stretch of road in question.

Sylvia Gray said: "They were so lucky nobody was driving fast round there."

Donna Vause fears this is a recurring problem. She posted: "This happens often. Seen it more than once."

Kay Skinner added: "Had that happen to us at same spot one Sunday morning was a car that had come out Morrison’s slip road."
