'Scottish answer to Banksy' delights locals with new King Neptune mural at Edinburgh's Granton pier

The "Scottish answer to Banksy" has struck again in Edinburgh over the weekend, leaving their mark in Granton this time - much to the delight of locals.

The new mural at Eastern Breakwater depicts the iconic King Neptune, the Roman God of the sea, which is a fitting tribute for Granton's pier.

However, if you look closer, you will see that Neptune's trident has plastic bags and bottles hanging from it, there are also plastic bottles floating in the waves.

The striking mural serves as a reminder for people to pick up their rubbish and gets behind the wider the ocean cleanup movement.

In an Instagram post the artist said: "This piece is available to buy as a limit edition (link in bio).

"All profits will go to the sea life trust, to help remove plastic from our oceans.

"To see this piece, you will need to take a quick jaunt down the pier."

The artist was also responsible for Edinburgh mural showing Boris Johnson, Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump as babies, which appeared earlier this year.

The Rebel Bear disguises their identity by wearing a pink bear costume. If you like the Rebel Bear's work, you can see more of it over on their Instagram page.
