Scott Brown's 'that's not Celtic' claim as Hoops skipper takes Ross disastrous County defeat hard

Scott Brown insisted defeat to Ross County summed up Celtic’s season as The Hoops’ captain admitted defeat in Dingwall was “hard to take”.

Jordan White’s late header means it is now possible for Rangers to win the Scottish Premiership title at the home of their greatest rivals when they visit on March 21, provided the Parkhead side get back on a winning track against Aberdeen and Dundee United in their next two games.

They are now 18 points behind Steven Gerrard’s men with eight games to play, meaning it would take an almighty slip up for the division’s leaders to be caught

Brown acknowledged the season “had not been great” but asserted they would continue fighting for under-fire boss Neil Lennon, who faced more questions over his future after Sunday evening’s defeat.

But the Celtic captain conceded this was simply not the Celtic who reigned supreme over Scottish football during their decade of dominance that secured four straight trebles.

"The gaffer has got to make sure he has got the best team out there possible and we have got to make sure we get a result and get back to winning ways as quickly as possible," he said.

"That's what this club is all about and this season has not been great for us to be perfectly honest and that performance probably does sum up our season. Played not too bad throughout the 90 minutes and lose 1-0.

"We go two, three, four, five wins and then a defeat and that's hard to take. That's not Celtic, that's not us."
