Scott Brown names two Celtic players he would take to Fleetwood as he offers cheeky loan transfers

Scott Brown has named TWO Celtic players he would take to Fleetwood Town 'all day long' as he offered the duo a cheeky one-year loan south of the border.

The legendary Hoops skipper has kicked-off his path in the dugout at the English League One club after a trophy-laden time at Parkhead. He won the lot and played at the highest-level while he also skippered Scotland during his successful playing days. He's now on the managerial side of things with life at the Cod Army. His side are sitting 17th in the third tier.

During an interview with BBC Sport Scotland, Brown was asked which player who he has played with he'd like to bring on board, he responded: "I would say for standards and tempo in training, I would say Callum McGregor. I would take him or Jamesy (Forrest), all day long. If any of them want to come then it's an option, lads, a year's loan.

"But I tried to drive everything as much as I could when I knew I was coming to the end, but I was glad when I was leaving they offered Cal the captaincy because he drives training.

"He drives standards about the place and wants to be the best he possibly can be. Did I play with better players?

"Possibly. I played with Virgil (van Dijk) and (Victor) Wanyama and stuff, but controlling a dressing room is hard. Here (Fleetwood) we have Josh Vela and these players are important to have because they can drive players on."

Opening up on his decision to go to Fleetwood, the former Celtic star added: "I did have a couple of offers in Scotland. But I wanted a change of scenery and to put myself out of my comfort zone as well.

"It was a great opportunity. We have a fantastic training ground, we've got a new stadium with a great pitch. We are punching above our weight and it's a fantastic place to start.

"Don't get me wrong, I loved my time in the goldfish bowl. It was unbelievable. Playing for Celtic was probably the best time of my entire life. It was a fantastic experience, but that time is gone and I have to focus on Fleetwood."
