Scotstoun two-car crash leaves man in hospital as emergency services close road

A man has been rushed to hospital following an early morning crash in Scotstoun.

Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle crash on South Street near to Balmoral Street just before 7am on Tuesday.

A driver from one of the vehicles was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. His condition is currently unknown.

The road was closed to allow emergency services to deal with the crash but has since reopened.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.55 am on Tuesday, 31 January 2023, police were called to a two-vehicle road crash on South Street near to Balmoral Street, Scotstoun, Glasgow.

"Emergency services attended and a male driver from one car has been taken to the QEUH for treatment . No reports of any other injuries.

"South Street was closed between Balmoral Street and Harland Street to allow emergency services to deal with the crash. The road has since been re-opened. No further details at this time."
