Scots teen charged in connection with assault of Dumbarton man

A teenager has been charged in connection with the assault of a man in West Dunbartonshire.

The 29-year-old victim was allegedly stabbed in the arms and chest in Dumbarton at around 10.20pm on Saturday, April 17.

The incident took place on a dirt track near the gas works off Castlegreen Street.

Nathan Reid, 18, was charged with assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and danger of life when he appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

He did not enter a plea and was committed for further examination and released on bail.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Record: "Police Scotland can confirm that an 18-year-old man has been charged in connection with the assault of a 29-year-old man in Dumbarton on Saturday, April 17.

"The incident happened on a dirt track near the gas works off Castlegreen Street.

"The victim received treatment for a number of stab wounds in the arms and chest.

"A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

"The man was expected to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Wednesday, May 5."
